Sprinkler Repair is also very popular this time of year.  Folks in Central Oklahoma are turning on their Sprinkler Systems and discovering problems.  CMG Sprinkler Repair Specialist have been busy.  We fixed several leaks in a Sprinkler System in Edmond.  The sprinkler pipes were leaking in several places.  Each leak had to be cut out and replaced.  The Sprinkler System was fairly new.  It was installed last summer by a Pool Company that also installs cheap sprinkler systems. All the joints in the sprinkler pipes were glued together with clear PVC Cement.  That part is OK, But they cut some corners and didn't use PVC Primer with the glue.  As a result the joints didn't bond very well and many of them blew apart this spring when the sprinkler systems was turned on.  (Thus all the leaks)  I suspect we will have to go back several times to fix additional leaks.  We can only warranty the PVC joints that we have replaced.   Cheaper isn't always better.

CMG designed sprinkler systems are fully automatic and self-draining.  When the sprinklers are not running, the system automatically drains the sprinkler pipes under ground.  If it gets cold there is no water in the sprinkler pipes to freeze.

Wow, we have a new twist on sprinkler repair.  Broken sprinkler pipes occur for all kinds of reasons.  Sprinkler Pipes break because:  1.  They freeze (usually due to poor installation)  2.  Cars or trucks drive up in yards and break them.  3.  They blow apart under pressure (usually because primer was not used when the pipes were glued together).

This year we have had a lot of calls to fix leaking or broken sprinkler pipes due to Earth Quake Damage.  I would expect that in California, but Oklahoma?  Since 1993 CMG has fixed sprinkler systems for all kinds of reasons.  Earthquake damage is something new.

Our most recent Sprinkler System Installation was in East Oklahoma City.  It was a Five Zone Sprinkler System.  The Sprinkler Heads were Rain Bird 5004s with Rainbird 4inch Popup Sprinkler Heads in the flower beds.  The Controller was a Hydro-Rain Sprinkler Controller with a Rain-Freeze Sensor attached.  The Sprinkler System Installation took two days.

CMG Sprinkler and Drain   -- CMG has installed Lawn Sprinklers in Edmond and all of Central Oklahoma since 1993.  Typically we install Rain Bird Lawn Irrigation Systems but will install all other major brands at customers request.

Recently we installed a seven zone Rain Bird Sprinkler System near Penn and 172 nd  st.   We installed Rain Bird 5004 model Sprinkler Heads along with a Rain- Freeze Sensor.

The Lawn Irrigation System took two days to install.    More fun in the sun on a hot day.

Sprinkler System Installation in Oklahoma can be complicated.   There are many details that very important to ensure that a new Sprinkler System be durable and dependable for many years to come.  Attention to detail makes all the difference when installing a Sprinkler System.  Many times, So-Called, " Fly By Night Sprinkler Companies,"  cut lots of corners to save money.  Low price should not be the determining factor for having a Sprinkler System installed.  A cheap Sprinkler System soon becomes very expensive if it has to be fixed all the time or won't work at all.

Repairing Broken Sprinkler Pipe Near Back-Flow-Valve

Two things you should require on any Sprinkler System:

1.  Make shure PRIMER  is used along with PVC Glue when the Sprinkler Pipe is put together.  Primer helps the glue to bond to the PVC pipe.  This ensures that all the pressurized pipe connections won't leak over time.  I have seen Sprinkler Systems that were no more than a year old that leaked everywhere.  Again some Sprinkler Contractors will cut corners with the Primer.

2.  Make shure the connection for the Sprinkler System at the water meter is done with a, "compression T."  This ensures that no leaks will occur over time at this connection.  The Sprinkler Connection at the water meter is highly stressed every time the Sprinkler System is turned on.  A connection with Glue and Primer will not hold up to the stress over time.  This is why a Compression T must be used.  This is another area that some Sprinkler Contractors choose to cut corners.

The above two points are just a few of the details that need to be considered when installing a Lawn Sprinkler System.

I have amassed a great deal of experience designing and installing Sprinkler Systems,  Repairing Sprinkler Systems, and designing and installing Drainage Systems.  In the past 19 years, I have made mistakes, but I have learned from them.  As a result I get calls, from time to time,  from other Sprinkler and Drainage companies that have run into a problem that they can't handle.  I am always glad to help.

I usually don't take money up front for Sprinkler Installation, Sprinkler Repair, or French Drain Installation.  I prefer that the customer pay me when the job is complete and they are happy with the work.  In a few cases on very large jobs I request a draw or outlay for parts.  The parts are delivered from my supplier to the address where the job is being done and equal the amount of the draw.  The parts stay on the premises until they are installed.
